Story Book Trail

We take immense pride in our involvement in the thrilling community initiative at Belmont Haywood Country Park in Herefordshire. The primary goal of this endeavor was to inspire children to explore the outdoors, foster a love for reading, and actively engage with their nearby library resources.

Belmont Haywood Country Park offers a charming backdrop replete with a children's play area, inviting picnic spots, and a serene pond inhabited by terrapins. In pursuit of enhancing the park's allure, the idea was conceived to create a captivating storybook trail. Here, children can embark on a delightful journey guided by illustrated signs. Each sign not only presents a clue but also shares intriguing facts about both contemporary literary gems and timeless classics. Once these clues have been successfully unraveled, QR codes come into play, directing young adventurers to local library resources. These codes reveal information about the availability and precise locations of the featured books, effectively encouraging children to explore and borrow them.

We meticulously crafted and designed each sign to accommodate a diverse selection of books, ranging from classics like "Mr. Men" to timeless tales such as "Wind in the Willows," ensuring accessibility for everyone. If you have children, we invite you to visit Haywood Country Park and show your support for your local library by embarking on this literary adventure.
